I've always loved the idea of being able to bike ride with my dog, but never had a dog that I could do it with and then when I got the dog didn't have the bike. So I finally broke down bought a bike and a leash attachment. Yay! I pulled out the attachment today and thought it would be fun to do a little review on it. It's beginning to feel a lot like spring around here! It definitely gives you planting fever. So, lately my Mom, sister, and I have been planning our planting station and what we will be starting for the 2016 garden season. We've got a really good start if I do say so myself. Ollo! It's been awhile (*cough* understatement of the year). What's a year and a half, huh? :) I'm hoping to be a little more consistent with posting here, New Year's resolutions and all, you know how it goes. On to a quick update. I don't have the Bantams anymore because, well, I live in the city and four out of six ended up being roosters. Does not make for happy neighbors at four o'clock in the morning. However, my family has added a few more additions to the group. Let me introduce them to you. First up, Rue. This is what happens when my mom and I go into the feed store unattended by cool headed adults. Rue's sister May. Next, my newest ferret Scarlet. My awesome new dog, Emma. She is the best dog ever. :)And last, but not least, my sister's new puppy, Hayden. Isn't she the cutest! It's been an interesting year and a half. Hopefully it will be an easier year in 2016. Some of the goals for the next few months include remodeling my room, selling my car, training Emma in a new sport, and hopefully moving back home.
I will keep you all updated. Peyton out *wave* Okay, here are the pictures that I promised to post yesterday. As you can see, it actually looks like somewhat of a structure now (somewhat is the keyword here. Still a lot of work to do). :) There are going to be nesting boxes on one side and then a window on the other. There is also going to be a floor. Wheels are going be added to one side to make it easier to move the house around the yard. Here, I have the front on and the door cut out. I also got both side panels and the front panel partially done. The brackets are not secured yet in this picture that is why they are a little crooked. Here is one finished panel. Just have to add fencing. And that is about as far as I've gotten as of today. I had to work most of today and didn't get anytime to work on it. Hopefully, tomorrow I'll have some time to work on it. In the meantime, I hope you all have an awesome weekend!
So, the chicks will be 3 months on the 25th of this month, that means that it is time to move them outside full time. I guess that means that I have to get going on the construction of their new home. They lived in my room for a month (I know, a true crazy country girl that keeps chicks in her room for a month. This isn't the first time I have shared my room with chicks). ;) They were then move into a bigger brooder that was kept in the garage (they were put outside in my outdoor ferret pen during the day and slept in the garage at night), and now it is time for them to graduate into a big chicken pen. I can't believe they went from this: to this: It appears that I don't have a picture of Ambrose. Hmm, I am going to have to fix that. Anyways, I kind of got off topic there, the point is that chicks grow way too fast. I finally started on the chicken house and pen on Thursday. I had bought most of the materials a couple of weeks ago and just never got around to making the pen. Here are some pictures of my progress thus far. This is the first days work. I got a whole lot more done today, but this post is getting a little overloaded with pictures, so, I will post the rest of the progress tomorrow (since it finally actually looks like a chicken coop now). I do have one more thing to share. While I was busy working on this project, one of my little ferrets, Obi to be exact, found a way to squeeze through my cracked open window and tear a lovely little hole in my screen. My mom heard a scratching noise coming from the roof, looked up, and there is little Obi sitting on the roof. He is fine, didn't hurt himself at all. It is just amazing how one so small can get himself into all sorts of trouble. :) Anyhow, I hope that I have not overloaded this post too much, and hopefully you enjoyed it. I am now just finishing up watching the first Pirates of the Caribbean and then I am off to bed. See you all later!

A Little About Me
Hello all! My name is Peyton. I am the second oldest of six kids. I have many interests, but my favorite things to do are knitting, metal stamping, hanging out with my five ferrets, playing with my dog, working outside, hiking, hanging out with my family, and studying pet nutrition and behavior. So, there you go, now you know a little bit about me. I hope you stay awhile and enjoy the blog! Archives
